"I didn’t listen to them. Usually you’re going to have opposition whether it’s from your family or the world or whoever it’s going to be there so you have to know that it’s what you want to do and you have to be prepared to work really hard for it. If you’re obsessed with something, I think that in a way equals talent of a certain level. Now in other areas of my life that kind of obsession has damaged relationships and one of those things I didn’t know how to do was interact with people. I was so devoted that all I would do is eat, breathe, and sleep acting and books. I wouldn’t socialize; I wouldn’t go to parties. I don’t know why I’m talking about this… but I had to teach myself how to socialize to be a human."
